General Hospital may be setting Drew Cain up for one of the cruelest twists imaginable. Drew has been using his pain over Scout to explain why he understands the desperation of a parent who feels control of a child slipping away. But what if those emotional references to Scout are actually setting up something much bigger? Drew may be worried about losing his daughter now, but a shocking DNA discovery could force him to confront an even more devastating possibility: what if Scout was never biologically his daughter at all?
That possibility becomes especially explosive because of Drew’s growing conflict with Sonny Corinthos. As Drew becomes involved in the battle surrounding Ava and Avery, Jason Morgan could eventually step in and challenge what his brother is doing. A confrontation between Jason and Drew over children, custody, and family loyalty would give Drew the perfect opportunity to bring up Scout and insist that Jason could never understand what it feels like to fear losing a daughter.
And that could be exactly when General Hospital turns Drew’s words against him.
Scout has long been accepted as the daughter of Drew and Sam McCall. There is currently no confirmed spoiler establishing otherwise. However, Scout’s conception occurred during one of the most complicated identity periods in Port Charles history, when Drew was living with Jason’s memories and was believed to actually be Jason. That tangled history gives the writers plenty of material if they ever decide to reopen Scout’s paternity.
The bombshell would not even have to begin as a paternity investigation. Scout could experience a medical emergency that requires doctors to examine her genetic history, or an old medical record could suddenly reveal an inconsistency. Alexis might initially believe it is nothing more than an error buried in years of complicated records.
Then the doctors run the test again.
Something still does not match.
Drew would almost certainly reject the results immediately. He could accuse the hospital of making a mistake or even suspect that someone deliberately tampered with Scout’s DNA results. Considering Jason and Drew are twins, doctors might decide that Jason needs to be tested as well before anyone reaches a conclusion.
That attempt to eliminate Jason could instead produce the result nobody is prepared to see.
JASON MORGAN: PATERNITY MATCH.
Imagine Alexis staring at that report while Drew refuses to believe what is written in front of him. Jason would likely be just as stunned. Another independent test could be ordered, giving Drew one final hope that the first result was wrong.
Then the second test comes back with the same answer.
If General Hospital ever pulled this retcon, the mystery would immediately shift to the past. Was an original DNA sample switched? Was an old test interpreted incorrectly? Did someone know the truth and bury it? Or could the confusion surrounding Drew’s identity during that era have concealed a secret that nobody realized existed?
For Drew, however, the scientific explanation might barely matter.
His entire relationship with Jason could explode.
Drew has spent years living under the enormous shadow of his twin. Jason had the identity Drew once carried. Jason has deep connections to Sonny and the Corinthos family. Now imagine Drew discovering that the daughter he considers one of the most important people in his life is biologically Jason’s child too.
In Drew’s mind, Jason could suddenly become the man who gets everything without even trying.
The most painful part is that Jason might have absolutely no intention of taking Scout away from Drew. Jason knows biology alone does not erase years of love, memories, and parenting. He could immediately tell Drew that Scout still considers Drew her father and that he has no desire to destroy that relationship.
But Drew might not hear reassurance.
He might hear pity.
That could push Drew into paranoia, especially if his war with Sonny is already escalating. Drew could convince himself that Jason is slowly replacing him everywhere — with Sonny, within the family, and now potentially in Scout’s life.
And that brings the story back to Drew’s recent emotional argument about parents losing their children.
What if General Hospital is deliberately putting Scout back into Drew’s dialogue because the writers are preparing to test the one relationship Drew believes can never be taken from him?
Drew may think his greatest fear is losing access to Scout.
A DNA bombshell could reveal something far more brutal: Jason Morgan may be Scout’s biological father — and Drew’s worst nightmare may only be beginning.
The question would then become bigger than DNA. If Jason really were revealed as Scout’s biological father, should that change anything? Or after everything Drew and Scout have shared, would Drew always remain her real father where it matters most?
