The biggest red flag is simple: Jax himself has not personally confirmed this enormous decision to Joss. Hudson is the one delivering the information, explaining that Jax is away sailing and revealing that Joss has supposedly been chosen to take over as CEO. That puts Hudson in an incredibly powerful position. He controls what Joss knows, what she believes her father wants, and potentially what paperwork she will be asked to sign next.
Joss’s reaction may have been exactly what Hudson was hoping for. She has no desire to abandon her current life and suddenly become the full-time head of a massive international company. What if Hudson never expected Joss to accept the CEO position?
That would completely change the meaning of the offer. Instead of trying to install Joss at the top of Jasper Jacks Enterprises, Hudson could be using the offer to make her voluntarily surrender the power she has just been given. He creates a problem Joss does not want, then conveniently offers her the solution. All he needs to do next is control who appears on that list of potential successors.

The perfect General Hospital cliffhanger would come when Joss finally signs the documents. She walks away relieved, believing the corporate nightmare is over. Hudson remains behind, calmly looks at her signature, picks up his phone and delivers two terrifying words: “It’s done.”
But Hudson could be making one enormous mistake. Joss is not simply Jax’s daughter — she has WSB training. Once something feels wrong, she may start investigating the very documents she signed. A suspicious authorization, altered timestamp, questionable electronic signature, or inconsistency in Jax’s supposed instructions could expose the entire scheme.
Then Joss could discover the horrifying truth: Jax never authorized the transfer Hudson described.
Suddenly, this would no longer be a story about Joss refusing a CEO position. It would become a war for the Jacks family empire. Hudson may think he has manipulated Joss into handing him everything, but exposing the con could unleash the side of Joss he badly underestimated.
