Josslyn Jacks may see control of JJE as an unwanted responsibility, but Hudson could see the exact same decision as the ultimate betrayal. But if Hudson knew Jax was his biological father, they could have meant something completely different. Hudson could have heard a promise: prove yourself, remain patient, and eventually I’ll give you your place in the Jacks family.
That would make Jax’s succession decision absolutely devastating.
Hudson could have expected to open the final JJE documents and finally see his years of loyalty rewarded. Instead, one name would be staring back at him: JOSSLYN JACKS — CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. The daughter who already had Jax’s name, his public acknowledgment, and his family would now receive the one thing Hudson believed he had actually earned.
And the cruelest part? Joss doesn’t even seem to want it.
That could explain why Hudson’s frustration with Joss feels so important. Every time she resists taking control of JJE, Hudson may hear something far more insulting than she intends. The document was prepared months earlier, only to be revoked. Then Jax replaced it with a final order naming Josslyn CEO.
Suddenly, Hudson’s resentment would make perfect sense.
Joss could confront him with both documents and demand the truth. Hudson might finally explode: “I spent years building his company while you wanted nothing to do with it!” A stunned Joss could fire back with the only question that matters: “Why would my father owe you anything?”

If General Hospital ever delivers that reveal, Hudson instantly stops being merely Josslyn’s possible secret brother. He becomes her rival heir. That also gives Hudson the perfect foundation for becoming a complicated grey character rather than a straightforward villain. He doesn’t need to hate Joss. In fact, he could genuinely care about her while simultaneously resenting everything she represents. Joss received Jax’s surname, his family, his recognition, and now possibly his company. Hudson may have received nothing except the expectation that he prove himself.
But there could be an even darker twist hiding inside those succession documents.
What if Jax really DID intend to make Hudson CEO before suddenly changing his mind?
Joss could discover that Jax became increasingly worried about Hudson shortly before leaving. Perhaps Hudson had accumulated too much influence inside JJE, gained the loyalty of powerful executives, or begun making moves Jax never authorized. Jax may have realized his secret son wasn’t simply preparing to inherit the company — he was becoming powerful enough to take it.
That possibility completely changes why Joss was named CEO.
Jax may not have handed JJE to his daughter as a reward.
He may have put Josslyn in Hudson’s way.
And if that is true, the coming Jacks family war won’t simply be about money or inheritance. It will be about the question Hudson has potentially spent years trying to answer: Why did Jax finally choose Joss over him?
