Vernon may have just asked the question nobody wanted Bill to answer. Instead of confronting Dani about her complicated feelings, Vernon goes straight to Bill and demands to know what he really intends to do about her. That shift could be far more dangerous than another conversation about Dani’s unresolved emotions. If Bill is still determined to have Dani back, then this story is no longer about the past. It becomes a battle over the future.
The most important detail is who Vernon chooses to confront. He does not ask Dani whether she still has feelings for Bill. He does not focus on whether she has completely moved on. He goes directly to the man whose intentions could change everything. That suggests Vernon may already suspect that Bill is not simply dealing with old emotions. He may believe Bill is preparing to make a move.
And that is exactly where the storyline becomes explosive. Bill has already been described as someone who is willing to “flirt with disaster.” If that warning is connected to Dani, then Bill could be standing dangerously close to a line he should never cross. Wanting Dani privately is one thing. Acting on those feelings while she is married to Andre is something completely different.
