That small exchange could have reopened one of the oldest unanswered questions surrounding Daniel’s family.
The obvious explanation is that Christine was speaking emotionally. Danny has always loved Daniel and has played an important father figure in his life. Their relationship does not need a biological connection to be meaningful. In the current canon, Brian Hamilton is Daniel’s biological father. That remains the established version of Daniel’s paternity. However, the wording on August 18 creates an intriguing opening for another possibility: what if the biological story is not as settled as everyone believes?
Daniel’s paternity has already been surrounded by manipulation, deception and controversial testing.
