Right now, they can hide meetings, explain suspicious behavior and convince themselves that their private choices do not need to affect anyone else. A pregnancy would destroy that illusion.
It would also give someone else enormous power if the truth were discovered before Victoria was ready to reveal it.
Phyllis has already come dangerously close to Victoria and Kyle’s motel secret. If she learns what is happening between them, she could be sitting on information capable of detonating both the Newman and Abbott families. Add a pregnancy to that secret, and Phyllis wouldn’t merely possess scandalous gossip. She could possess the one revelation Victor, Jack, Claire and countless others desperately need to know.
That’s why the biggest twist may not be Victoria and Kyle getting caught together.
Y&R could be building toward something much harder to contain.
