GERAL HOSPITAL SPOILERS — SEPTEMBER 25, 2026

Sonny Corinthos may have just walked into the most dangerous trap of his life, and the biggest clue came from the mouths of the men who attacked Sidwell inside Pentonville. The September 25 episode delivered a brutal prison assault, an unexpected victim, and one suspicious declaration that could expose a much bigger conspiracy. While everyone was supposed to believe Sonny ordered the attack, the way his name was announced has raised a far more disturbing possibility: someone wanted the world to believe he was responsible.
The trouble began when Curtis warned Sidwell that an attack was coming. He urged Sidwell to seek protective custody, but Sidwell refused, choosing to take his chances inside the prison. That decision quickly turned disastrous when three inmates entered his cell and began beating him. Curtis returned just as one attacker prepared to stab Sidwell, forcing him into a fight that left both men battered on the floor.

Then came the statement that changed everything.
Before leaving, the leader delivered a chilling message: “Sonny Corinthos owes you this. And more.”
At first, those words appeared to settle the question of who ordered the assault. Sonny had motive, connections, and a long history of using his influence to settle dangerous scores. But the statement also created a glaring problem. Why would men carrying out an illegal attack openly identify the person who supposedly hired them?
That question has become the foundation of a disturbing theory about what really happened at Pentonville.
Sonny has been trying to distance himself from the criminal world, even as his old enemies continue to threaten his future. Ordering a prison assault would undermine those efforts, especially if the attackers openly connected the violence to his name. Whoever delivered that message created the kind of evidence that could follow Sonny long after Sidwell’s injuries healed.
And that is precisely why Drew has emerged as a possible suspect in the fan theories surrounding the attack.
Drew has his own reasons to want Sonny weakened. A prison assault attributed to Sonny could damage his attempt to leave organized crime, put him under renewed scrutiny, and threaten the future he is trying to build. Sidwell would suffer physically, while Sonny could be forced to answer for a crime he may never have authorized. For someone seeking revenge against multiple enemies, such an outcome could be extremely useful.
The theory becomes even more intriguing when another detail enters the picture: Sonny’s earlier private meeting with Vito.
Viewers discussing the episode recalled Sonny arranging for a message to reach Pentonville while keeping Ric out of the conversation. That detail complicates the idea that Sonny had absolutely nothing to do with the events leading up to the attack. But arranging a warning and ordering a brutal beating are not necessarily the same thing.
Could someone have learned that Sonny intended to send Sidwell a message and transformed that warning into something far more violent?
If Drew discovered the plan, he could theoretically exploit Sonny’s own connections to make the resulting assault appear authentic. The attackers would not need to explain their actions. They would simply need to say Sonny’s name loudly enough for the surviving witnesses to remember it.
There is another reason this possibility matters: Curtis.
Curtis was not the original target of the beating. He stepped into the violence while trying to prevent Sidwell from being stabbed. His injuries created another potential witness with personal reasons to demand answers.
If Curtis believes Sonny ordered the attack, the consequences could extend far beyond Pentonville. Jordan could learn that Curtis was injured during an assault attributed to Sonny, just as she has discovered Sonny’s secret relationship with Justine.
Imagine the pressure on Justine if Jordan arrives with news that Sonny’s name was invoked during a violent prison attack. Sonny has told Justine that he can finally be completely honest with someone he cares about. This incident could put that claim to its most serious test yet.
But Drew is not the only possibility.
Some viewers have questioned Sidwell’s refusal of protection despite Curtis’s warning. Could Sidwell have known more about the impending attack than he admitted? Could the assault serve a larger plan to turn people against Sonny or influence Sidwell’s legal situation?
Those questions remain unanswered, and the September 25 episode did not reveal who actually issued the final order to the prisoners.
What it did reveal was an extraordinarily convenient accusation.
The attackers did not simply leave Sidwell injured. They left Sonny’s name attached to the crime.
And if someone deliberately arranged that final statement, the most important evidence may not be who threw the punches, but who instructed the men to identify Sonny before walking away.
The real bombshell may be that Sonny’s enemies no longer need to defeat him directly. They only need to make his criminal past look like his present — and convince everyone he has never changed.
