Billy Abbott may believe he just handed Victor Newman the perfect weapon against Adam, but his Newman Media revelation could trigger something far more dangerous than another corporate war. By putting Adam back under Victor’s microscope, Billy may have accidentally reopened one of the ugliest chapters in Newman family history. And if Adam realizes Victor intends to dig through his past again, he could finally retaliate with the one secret capable of attacking Victor where it hurts most: the truth about how Victor once used Christian’s paternity as leverage against his own son.
The shocking part is not that Adam is Christian’s biological father. That truth has been known for years. The real scandal is what happened after Victor discovered it. Adam had manipulated the DNA results to conceal Christian’s true paternity, but Victor eventually learned what Adam had done. Instead of simply exposing the truth and allowing the family to deal with the consequences, Victor gained something enormously valuable: leverage over Adam.
That distinction changes everything. Victor has always presented his most ruthless actions as necessary sacrifices made to protect the Newman family. But Christian’s history creates a much darker question. If protecting family was truly Victor’s priority, why was information involving his own grandson useful as a weapon against Adam? Victor did not merely possess a devastating secret. He understood exactly how much Adam had to lose if that secret came out.
That buried history suddenly matters again because of Billy. His decision to put Adam’s Newman Media maneuver in front of Victor may appear to be another attempt to create chaos between the Newmans. Billy wants Victor looking at Adam’s latest moves. The problem is that Victor rarely stops at the obvious question. Once he suspects Adam is operating behind his back, Victor could begin investigating everything Adam has been doing—and everything he may still be hiding.
Adam would immediately understand the danger. He has spent enough time battling Victor to know what happens when his father starts digging. Waiting for Victor to uncover something and use it against him would mean surrendering control of the fight. That could force Adam into a radically different strategy: attack first.
And Adam has the perfect battlefield.
Instead of denying his own past, Adam could force Victor to answer for his. Adam manipulated Christian’s DNA results, but Victor discovered the deception. Victor knew the truth. Victor then used that knowledge as leverage. If Adam can prove exactly when Victor learned the truth and how he exploited it, the entire story changes from “Adam lied about Christian” to something much more damaging: “Victor knew about the lie and weaponized it.”

The biggest mystery is whether evidence from that period still exists. Victor Newman is not exactly known for throwing away valuable leverage. There could theoretically be an old DNA report, legal correspondence, archived Newman records, or another document establishing when Victor discovered Christian’s biological paternity. Adam would not even need a massive secret archive. One surviving document with the right date could be enough to reopen everything.
Sage’s letter makes that possibility even more intriguing. Before her death, Sage left Adam a letter confirming that she knew he was Christian’s biological father and thanking him for keeping the truth hidden. Adam burned the letter, apparently destroying one of the most explosive pieces of evidence connected to Christian’s history. But was that truly the only record of what Sage knew?
That unanswered question creates an enormous opening. Sage could have discussed the situation elsewhere, another record could have survived, or information connected to the original DNA deception could still exist independently of her letter. If Adam finds anything establishing a timeline that contradicts Victor’s preferred version of events, he suddenly has ammunition.
And Nick could become the person who makes that ammunition devastating.
For Nick, this would not simply be another Victor-versus-Adam feud. Christian is personal. Learning that Victor possessed critical information about Christian while simultaneously using that knowledge to control Adam could force Nick to reconsider how far his father was willing to go in the name of Newman power. Victor could defend corporate manipulation. Defending the use of Christian’s paternity as leverage would be much harder.
That is why Billy’s mistake could become so spectacularly ironic. Billy wanted Victor to scrutinize Adam. Instead, he may have given Adam the motivation to expose Victor.
Newman Media may only be the trigger. Christian is the buried wound underneath it.
If Victor pushes too hard, Adam may finally decide that survival requires exposing the entire story—not who Christian’s biological father is, but what Victor knew, when he knew it, and how he used that truth.
And if Adam finds even one surviving document proving Victor turned Christian’s DNA secret into a weapon, Billy’s Newman Media bombshell could look insignificant compared to the Newman family explosion that follows.
