Curtis Ashford may think losing his freedom is the worst thing waiting for him at Pentonville, but General Hospital could be setting him up for a far more devastating shock. With Curtis beginning his prison sentence and Jenz Sidwell potentially becoming his new cellmate, one explosive fan theory could turn this prison storyline into a massive DNA mystery involving Desmond, Britt Westbourne, and a paternity result that may never have been trustworthy.
Imagine Curtis walking into his cell expecting nothing but years of regret and anger. Instead, he finds Sidwell waiting for him. Curtis would naturally expect threats, intimidation, or another twisted power play, but Sidwell may have something much more dangerous than violence. He could have information about Curtis’ family that no outsider should possess.
Sidwell would only need one sentence to destroy Curtis’ certainty: “You really believed that DNA test?” Curtis might initially dismiss the comment as another psychological game, but Sidwell could start mentioning details about Desmond, Portia, Isaiah, and the DNA testing process that make Curtis realize this is more than an empty threat.
That is where Britt could suddenly become the most important piece of the puzzle. Britt has a complicated history with the network surrounding Sidwell and was previously forced into scientific work under dangerous circumstances. The wild theory is that Sidwell had Britt interfere with Desmond’s DNA sample. However, that does not necessarily mean Britt knowingly decided to destroy a family. Sidwell could have provided coded or anonymous samples and ordered Britt to produce a specific result without ever telling her whose DNA she was handling.
That possibility would protect Britt from becoming the villain while making her part of something enormous. Britt may have believed she was completing another task simply to survive Sidwell’s operation. She could have walked away without realizing that the sample belonged to Desmond or that her actions would eventually affect Curtis, Portia and everyone connected to the paternity mystery.
However, there is an even bigger question. Why would Sidwell care about Desmond’s father in the first place? A man like Sidwell would hardly go through the trouble of manipulating DNA simply to cover up an ordinary romantic scandal. If he ordered the switch, perhaps the important part was never creating a false father. Maybe Sidwell desperately needed to erase the real one.
That could completely change the mystery surrounding Desmond. What if the question is no longer whether Curtis or Isaiah is his biological father? What if neither man represents the secret Sidwell was trying to bury? Desmond could have a biological connection to someone far more dangerous, powerful, or closely connected to Sidwell’s own past.
Curtis obviously would not believe such an outrageous story without proof. That is when Sidwell could deliver one tiny detail that changes everything. Perhaps he knows the laboratory where the sample was processed, an identification number, the original testing date, or something Britt was instructed to do. It only takes one piece of information that Sidwell should not possess to make Curtis wonder whether he has been telling the truth.
There is another chilling possibility: What if Curtis becoming Sidwell’s cellmate is not an accident? Sidwell has always been a man who operates through manipulation, connections and carefully placed pressure.
