Just when Josslyn Jacks thought Cassius Faison was safely out of her life, Ryan Paevey has given General Hospital fans a reason to start watching the door. The actor has publicly left himself open to another GH appearance, and the timing could not be more explosive. Cassius is alive, the WSB knows exactly where he went, and Joss has just told Jason Morgan a version of the Cassius story that could become much more complicated if the man himself suddenly walks back into Port Charles.

Paevey’s latest comments are what make a Cassius comeback impossible to dismiss. During a recent fan event, the actor made it clear that another return would ultimately depend on conversations with the people running General Hospital. He also indicated that he would be open to coming back if Cassius could once again stir up trouble as an unpredictable “agent of chaos.” In other words, Paevey has not closed the book on Cassius — and neither has GH.
The show deliberately left that door wide open. Cassius appeared to meet a violent end after being shot during the Spoon Island showdown, but GH later revealed that he had survived. Instead of disappearing into another grave, Cassius ended up in WSB custody, where Z offered him a new opportunity. Executive producer Frank Valentini subsequently confirmed that Paevey’s latest run had always been planned as a short-term arc and added that the door remained open for him to return.
That unfinished ending suddenly matters because Joss has dragged Cassius back into Jason and Britt’s relationship. Joss interrupted their boathouse date and confronted Britt over revealing her WSB identity to Cassius. She blamed Britt’s disclosure for helping create the chain of events that led to Cassius abducting her and putting her life in danger. Joss clearly expected the revelation to change the way Jason saw Britt, even warning him that Britt could eventually betray him too.
But Jason did something Joss apparently did not expect: he listened to Britt. Britt admitted telling Cassius the truth but insisted she had been trying to protect her brother and never anticipated what he would do next. Jason ultimately accepted her explanation instead of immediately walking away. That leaves one enormous unresolved question hanging over the storyline — what happens if Cassius returns and tells Jason his own version of what happened?
Cassius would not be returning as a ghost or through another impossible resurrection. GH has already established that he survived. More importantly, his last chapter connected him directly to the WSB. That creates a dangerous bridge between Cassius and Joss’ current storyline, especially after Joss made another startling admission: the official account of the Spoon Island operation was not the full truth.
That line could become far more important if Cassius reappears. Joss has already acknowledged that there is more to the Spoon Island story than the public version. Cassius was there. He survived the confrontation. He subsequently landed in WSB hands. If there are missing pieces involving what happened before, during, or after that operation, Cassius could be one of the few people capable of filling them in.
And fans are already waiting for exactly that kind of return. Cassius’ exit did not erase interest in the character, with viewers openly hoping Paevey would eventually return. Even before GH confirmed Cassius had survived, viewers were expressing hope that his apparent death was not permanent. Now Paevey himself has made clear that another conversation about Cassius is possible.
The real bombshell would not simply be Cassius walking through a Port Charles doorway. It would be what he brings with him. He could explain what really happened with Joss. He could reveal information about the WSB. He could force Britt and Jason to revisit everything Joss just accused Britt of doing. And he could expose exactly how much of the Spoon Island story has remained hidden.
Joss wanted Jason to hear the truth about Britt. She may soon discover that opening the Cassius file works both ways.
Because Cassius Faison is not dead.
Ryan Paevey is open to returning.
And if Cassius comes back ready to talk, Joss may finally have to answer the questions she thought Port Charles would never get the chance to ask.
