Heather’s carefully guarded secret is dangerously close to exploding on Beyond the Gates. The August 25 episode finally gave Joey the clue he needed when Heather admitted that her real reason for coming to town involved a man from her romantic past. She refused to give Joey the whole story, but moments later Andre texted Heather demanding to see her immediately. Heather’s reaction said everything. Dani could not understand why Joey remained so suspicious of someone she considered wonderful. Andre suddenly snapped, warning them that they did not really know Heather and should not trust someone they knew almost nothing about. Joey is beginning to understand that something bigger is happening too. When he questioned Heather about why she had returned, she finally admitted there was someone nearby she had once been involved with. Joey essentially told her to deal with her romantic business and leave. But Heather’s immediate excitement after receiving Andre’s message created a trail that could become impossible to hide.
That is where Randy becomes crucial.
Joey previously ordered Randy to follow Heather and report her movements. Randy eventually admitted that Heather had spotted him and that he had lost her trail. Instead of simply sending Randy back out, Joey made a much more ominous decision: he would deal with Heather himself.
That decision puts Joey directly on a collision course with Andre.
If Randy managed to capture a photograph, video, location record or even a pattern connecting Heather to Andre before losing her, Joey suddenly has the first piece of evidence.
