And Drew has the motive.
That could be the devastating irony of this entire storyline. Drew might actually succeed in reaching Brennan’s evidence and still lose the larger battle. Removing the evidence would not erase the circumstances surrounding its disappearance. In fact, if Brennan’s material suddenly vanishes during the exact window when the Metro Court security system is compromised, Drew’s success could make him look even more suspicious.
This is also where Carly and Valentin could become far more dangerous than Drew expects. The spoilers confirm that they develop a theory and intend to capitalize on Drew’s mistake, but what happens after they connect the dots remains the bigger mystery. They do not necessarily have to confront Drew immediately. If they suspect what he has done, they could allow him to believe his operation worked perfectly while quietly watching his next move.
That possibility changes everything.
Drew’s greatest weakness has repeatedly been his confidence that he can control everyone around him. If Carly and Valentin realize he is hunting evidence, they could use that knowledge against him. A suggestion that another copy exists, a carefully placed clue, or even the appearance that Brennan still possesses something damaging could force Drew to act again. And the second time, Carly and Valentin could be waiting.
The most explosive part is the unlikely alliance forming against him. Carly understands Drew personally. Valentin understands covert operations, manipulation, and strategic deception. Jason brings another layer of experience and protection. Individually, all three are dangerous opponents.
