General Hospital wants viewers to believe Jack Brennan is the man floating facedown in the Metro Court pool. Ava slipped Drew’s pill into Jack’s drink, Jack quickly became overheated and disoriented, and Charlotte and Danny discovered a suited man in the water minutes later. The conclusion looks obvious—but the show carefully avoided showing the victim’s face.
The biggest problem with the obvious answer is Jack’s location. He was last seen struggling inside an elevator after pressing several floor buttons. He intended to return to his room, not visit a swimming pool that was closed for the season. The editing encourages viewers to connect Jack’s collapse with the body, but no aired scene actually showed him leaving the elevator or entering the pool area.
That missing journey may be more than sloppy plotting. What if Jack never reached the pool because the body belongs to another suited man—one whose recent promotion made him a deadly threat to Jenz Sidwell? Our theory is that the victim is Ezra Boyle, and Sidwell used Jack’s drugging as cover for a completely separate murder.
Ezra recently received a shocking second chance from Laura Collins. Before leaving Port Charles to visit Kevin and Ace, Laura announced that Ezra would help oversee the mayor’s office. Anna and Justine were visibly uncomfortable, but Laura defended her decision by emphasizing Ezra’s role in helping bring Sidwell down. That made Ezra more than a former associate. It made him a cooperating witness with political power.
Sidwell now has every reason to silence him. Ezra understands parts of Sidwell’s operation, survived being controlled by him and ultimately supplied information against him. With access to the mayor’s office, Ezra could uncover records, influence the police or expose more of Sidwell’s network. Killing him immediately after Laura left town would punish a traitor and destabilize the government she trusted him to protect.
Sidwell would not need to leave Pentonville to make it happen. His sudden placement in Curtis Ashford’s cell suggests he still possesses influence and knows how to manipulate people from behind bars. A remaining operative could have summoned Ezra to a private meeting, killed or drugged him, and moved his body into the Metro Court’s closed pool area.
The location would be perfect. Because the pool was shut down, there were no ordinary guests, employees or lifeguards watching. Charlotte and Danny had to sneak inside. If Metro Court surveillance was also interrupted by Drew’s computer scheme, Sidwell’s operative would gain an unmonitored route to plant the body without realizing—or perhaps while deliberately exploiting—another crime already unfolding upstairs.
That creates the night’s most vicious reversal. Drew only wanted Jack incapacitated long enough to search his room, while Ava believed she was administering a sleeping pill. Neither of them killed the pool victim, yet both would immediately assume they had. Ava’s panic, Drew’s illegal entry and the drugged drink would form a ready-made evidence chain before anyone identified the body.
Ezra also carries a dangerous connection to another recent drugging. He returned pills that Jacinda had previously left with him, and Jacinda later used them against Willow. There is no confirmation that those drugs resemble Drew’s pill, but an investigation into Ezra’s death could uncover that history, drag Jacinda back into the story and create even more confusion about what substance actually killed him.
The ultimate reveal would be pure soap-opera dynamite: police turn over the body and discover Ezra, just as Jack is found alive near the elevator or reappears after receiving medical help. Jack would immediately know Ava drugged him, discover Drew searched his room and realize someone exploited their scheme to conceal a political assassination.
Laura would return to find the man she trusted murdered. Anna and Justine would inherit a citywide crisis. Curtis would be trapped beside the man who may have ordered the killing. Ava could expose Drew to save herself, while Jack becomes the witness capable of destroying them both.
Some previews identify Jack as the pool victim, so Ezra remains a speculative alternative rather than the most likely outcome. Still, the hidden face, Jack’s unexplained elevator gap, Ezra’s sudden promotion and Sidwell’s motive create a twist far bigger than an accidental drowning. If GH truly wants to shock viewers, Jack is only the decoy—and Sidwell has already claimed his real victim.
