Drew may believe Brennan’s disappearance is safely buried, especially with evidence being positioned to point suspicion elsewhere. But that plan depends on investigators accepting one crucial premise: nobody can prove Brennan was already dead before he supposedly disappeared. Danny and Charlotte destroy that premise completely. The moment Jason knows when Brennan died and when the cameras went dark, he can start asking who had the opportunity to move the body—and who began behaving suspiciously immediately afterward.
That is why Danny’s confession could become the beginning of Drew’s downfall rather than simply another emotional father-son scene. Jason does not need Danny to solve the entire mystery. He only needs one accurate timeline. From there, every suspicious detail can be tested against it, including the hacked cameras, Brennan’s missing possessions, Charlotte’s bracelet and any vehicle that could have been used during the blackout.
The smartest move, however, may be keeping Danny and Charlotte completely out of sight while Jason and Valentin investigate. Baines does not need to know immediately that two teenagers can contradict the entire official narrative surrounding Brennan. If someone powerful enough to manipulate Metro Court surveillance and move a body realizes those witnesses exist, Danny and Charlotte could become the next problem that needs to disappear.
Jason and Valentin therefore may have one mission before the WSB learns the truth: protect their children and quietly find Brennan’s body.
And when Jason finally identifies the detail connecting the cover-up to Drew, the real bombshell will not be that Brennan disappeared.
It will be that Danny and Charlotte saw exactly where the lie began.
