The cruelest twist would be Nick refusing to believe her.
Marie could easily frame Sharon’s concern as jealousy, especially if Nick begins developing stronger feelings for her. Nick might accuse Sharon of interfering. Mariah has already challenged Sharon over her instinct to protect Nick, making that conflict even more significant. Sharon could find herself completely alone while becoming increasingly certain that something about Marie does not add up.
And that is exactly where the Matt Clark nightmare could become Sharon’s greatest weapon.
