While the Abbotts were worrying about Patty disappearing again, Diane raised one terrifying possibility: Billy and Sally’s upcoming wedding could give Patty exactly the opportunity she needs. That warning sounded like nervous speculation in the moment, but the setup around it makes the timing impossible to ignore.
Patty is still out there. The Abbotts do not have the security of knowing she is safely locked away, and Billy himself only knows that she has supposedly left town. That possibility makes Diane’s seemingly simple comment one of the most important clues surrounding Patty right now.
