Josslyn Jacks may be about to make the biggest mistake of her WSB career — and that mistake could become the very thing that saves Sonny Corinthos. After promising Trina that she will stop Sonny no matter what it costs, Joss is ready to use every resource at her disposal to prove he ordered the brutal Pentonville attack. But the deeper she digs, the less the evidence behaves the way she expects. And one buried file inside Jack Brennan’s mysterious black box could turn her entire investigation upside down.

Joss currently believes she knows exactly what she is looking for. Sonny admitted that he sent Vito to deliver a message involving Sully and Sidwell, while insisting that the instruction was only to keep an eye on Sidwell. To Joss, that distinction may sound like another carefully constructed Sonny excuse. If she can prove Vito received a different order, she could finally have the evidence she has wanted against the man she blames for so much pain in Port Charles.
That obsession could send Joss back to one of the most dangerous sources of information Brennan left behind: his black box. Brennan collected secrets, intelligence and information that other people never knew existed. Joss may initially open it looking for something that connects Sonny directly to Vito. Instead, imagine her shock when the search produces another name she never expected to see.
Drew Cain.
At first, Joss may assume Drew’s file has nothing to do with the Pentonville attack. But one buried detail could stop her cold. Brennan’s records may reveal that Drew had a hidden connection to Vito — a contact, transaction, meeting or unidentified communication that occurred before Sonny’s message was ever delivered.

That timing would change everything.
If Drew’s connection to Vito existed before Sonny sent his instructions, then Joss suddenly has a devastating problem with the story everyone in Port Charles has accepted. Sonny’s message could not have started a conspiracy that was already moving before the message arrived. Someone else had gotten to Vito first.
And Joss would realize she has been investigating the wrong man.
The discovery would not immediately prove every detail of Sonny’s innocence. That is what makes the clue so dangerous. Instead, it would give Joss something even more valuable: a contradiction she cannot explain away. Brennan had apparently been watching Drew for reasons Joss never understood, and somewhere inside that surveillance trail is a connection to the same messenger now being used to bury Sonny.

Joss could then turn to her WSB access to investigate what Brennan never had the chance to finish. A burner number, encrypted contact, location ping or transaction identifier buried in Drew’s file could allow her to reconstruct Vito’s movements. What begins as an attempt to prove Sonny lied could suddenly reveal that Vito had another handler operating in the shadows.
Then Joss could follow the money.
Her position at JJE gives this storyline another explosive layer. If Brennan’s file provides the identifier and WSB intelligence provides the timeline, Joss could use JJE’s corporate resources to uncover a financial connection that leads back toward Drew. She would not need to find a document conveniently labeled “payment to frame Sonny.” One suspicious transaction occurring at exactly the wrong time would be enough to make her question everything.
But there is still one missing piece.
Joss would need someone who can put Vito and Drew together.
That is where Scout could unknowingly destroy her father’s entire cover story.
Scout was close enough to Drew, Ava and Vito to become the witness no one realizes matters. Joss could show her a photograph while trying to establish Vito’s movements, expecting little more than another dead end. Instead, Scout could recognize him immediately.
Joss asks where she saw him.
Scout says he was at her house.
Then comes the question that could change the entire investigation:
Who was he with?
Drew.
And Ava.
Suddenly, Brennan’s mysterious file, the suspicious timeline, the financial trail and Scout’s innocent memory all point in the same terrifying direction.
For Joss, the discovery would be brutal. She began this investigation determined to finally bring Sonny down. She told Trina she wanted justice for everyone Sonny had hurt. She was prepared to use her WSB training to prove that Sonny had fooled Port Charles again.
Instead, that same training could force her to admit the one thing she never wanted to believe.
Sonny was set up.
And the cruelest twist would be that Joss may become the person holding the evidence that can save him.
The question would no longer be whether Joss can destroy Sonny.
It would be whether she can put aside her hatred long enough to expose Drew, implicate Ava, devastate Trina — and clear the man she opened Brennan’s black box hoping to bury.
