Josslyn Jacks may think her father handed her control of JJE because he wanted his daughter to inherit his empire. But what if Jax’s shocking decision had almost nothing to do with business? The strange timing of Joss becoming CEO just as Hudson emerges as a powerful VP raises a much darker possibility: Jax may have deliberately put Joss in that chair because it was the only way she could uncover a family secret he had buried for years.
The biggest question is painfully obvious. If Hudson is already capable of serving as VP, why wouldn’t Jax simply leave him in charge? Joss has hardly been presented as someone desperate to abandon her life and become a corporate executive. Giving her the top job therefore feels strangely specific. Hudson.

That also raises another disturbing question: why now?
Jax’s sailing trip could suddenly look very different if he knew something dangerous from his past was about to surface. Perhaps he disappeared because he realized the secret could no longer remain hidden. Before leaving, he may have wanted to guarantee that both of his children were protected inside the Jacks empire.
And if Hudson really is Jax’s son, Joss has an even bigger problem waiting for her. She may have inherited the CEO title, but she might not be the only heir to JJE.
