Spoiler alert: This article discusses current Beyond the Gates events and speculation about Allison’s possible accomplice.
Chelsea Hamilton’s worst fear has been confirmed on Beyond the Gates. The mysterious calls she received were not harmless wrong numbers or a symptom of her trauma. Allison Bailey was calling her from inside a maximum-security psychiatric facility—and someone may have helped Chelsea’s dangerous stalker make contact.
Jacob Hawthorne confirmed that Allison remained locked inside the facility. Staff then searched her room and discovered a burner phone, explaining how she made the silent calls. That discovery answered one question, but it created a much more disturbing mystery: How did Allison get the phone, and who gave her access to Chelsea?
The show has not confirmed that Chelsea recently changed her number. Allison could have saved it before the kidnapping or recovered it through Chelsea’s public business accounts. However, a burner phone could not simply appear inside a maximum-security room. Someone either smuggled it into the facility, helped Allison obtain it or failed to stop her from accessing it.
The easiest suspect is Craig, the man Allison hired to pretend to be her husband. Craig helped create the fake marriage that allowed Allison to engineer a sexual relationship with Chelsea. He already knows how Allison operates, understands her obsession and has accepted her money before.
Craig eventually admitted that he was never Allison’s husband and helped expose her deception. That makes his return as an accomplice possible but predictable. Beyond the Gates has spent too much time rebuilding Allison’s threat for the answer to be merely the same man helping her again.
A corrupt employee inside the facility is another logical explanation. Allison could have manipulated a guard, nurse, therapist or fellow patient into believing she only wanted to contact someone she loved. Such a person could provide the device, but an anonymous employee would not deliver the emotional betrayal this storyline appears to be building.
The most explosive suspect is the last person Chelsea would ever expect: her fiancée, Madison Montgomery.
Madison has direct access to Chelsea’s phone number, schedule and private life. She knows about Chelsea’s trauma and understood why the anniversary of the kidnapping would leave her vulnerable. Madison also returned early from Copenhagen to support Chelsea just as Allison’s psychological campaign began.
That timing does not prove Madison’s guilt. Still, questions about Madison have existed since she entered Chelsea’s life. She knew Chelsea through social media before they officially met, but initially remained vague about how closely she had followed her. Their romance also moved at breathtaking speed, despite Madison revealing little about her past.
Allison repeatedly found Chelsea while she was spending time with Madison. Whenever Allison appeared, Madison sometimes remained strangely restrained instead of confronting the woman harassing her girlfriend. Madison later identified Allison as the likely danger and helped the family locate Chelsea, but even that could carry another meaning if the two women once shared a secret.
The darkest possibility is that Madison and Allison knew each other before Madison approached Chelsea.
Allison originally hired Craig to manufacture a relationship with Chelsea. It is therefore established that she uses other people to enter Chelsea’s life. Madison could have been another part of that scheme—someone assigned to monitor Chelsea, earn her trust or push her emotionally back toward Allison.
The plan may have changed when Madison genuinely fell in love with Chelsea. If Madison turned against Allison and helped rescue Chelsea, Allison would have lost both the woman she obsessed over and the accomplice who betrayed her. Her current calls could be directed at Chelsea while carrying a second message meant for Madison: Allison has not forgotten what happened.
This version does not require Madison to have intentionally placed Chelsea in danger again. She may not have supplied the burner phone at all. Instead, she could have given Allison access to Chelsea’s information during an earlier connection and concealed that history to protect her relationship.
That would explain why Madison helped stop the kidnapping while remaining terrified of the full truth coming out. She may have saved Chelsea’s life without admitting that her own choices helped Allison get close enough to threaten it.
Willow Montgomery and attorney Mike Davis remain alternative suspects. Willow has a reason to interfere in Madison’s relationship, while Mike could use Allison to attack Bill and destabilize Madison’s malpractice case. Neither, however, has an established connection to Allison or the psychiatric facility.
Madison remains the twist with the greatest emotional consequences. If Chelsea discovers her fiancée once worked with Allison—even before realizing how dangerous she was—the upcoming wedding could collapse instantly.
Jacob found the burner phone, but the phone is only the first piece of evidence. The real bombshell will be the identity of the person who opened a path between Allison and Chelsea.
Allison may be trapped behind locked doors, but the person helping her could already be sleeping beside Chelsea.
